Optics: Optical componentsand materials, Gaussian beams, matrix methods, optical sources,detectors, light characterization, imaging and microscopy

Thermal Measurement and Control: Thermometers, heaters, thermal design and material properties

Data acquisition: Analog to digital conversion, multifunction boards, digital buses
